August Diaries!

~CRAFT~

Freestanding Names and Letters were quite popular in August as were Wedding Drop Boxes.  I was kept so busy with orders this month that I still haven’t had the chance to showcase my Christmas Crafts yet!!  I will do this though in a separate post very soon which will include a New Design for 2017.  I always like to do something new and unique every year so keep an eye out on my Social Media Accounts for that one!  My Personalised Hand Painted Christmas Eve Boxes are already sold out for 2017 but I will have an alternative one available in September along with some lovely new Christmas Decorations and Stationery – the Christmas Planner is already proving to be extremely popular!

BEFORE #tuscanytransformation

On the 31st August I finally got the keys for my new Jessica Loves Studio!!  Works are now underway to transform Tuscany House on Youghal’s North Main Street into a bright and beautiful Space.  I hope to have the Studio up and running by October for Reloved Furniture Sales, Commissions and Creative Workshops.  The Studio will be open to the Public on Saturdays for Retail of Reloved Furniture Pieces and also by appointment Tuesday to Friday.  Workshops will be run on Wednesdays and Sundays and there will also be Studio Space available to book on Saturdays should you wish to come in and paint your own piece in peace!

I will be announcing the October Workshops in the coming weeks on my Website and across all my Social Media Accounts but for now you can read about the plans for the Studio here.

If you are creative yourself and would like to Host a Guest Workshop please send an email to jessicadiariesblog@gmail.com and I will send you on the remaining available Dates and Studio Rates.

~LIFESTYLE~

The Voting Stage for the Amara Interior Blog Awards opened on the 7th August and I am still campaigning to get to the Shortlist Stage for Best Craft Blog so I can attend the Awards Ceremony in London!!!  Imagine… me jet setting over with the likes of Catherine Carton of Dainty Dress Diaries…it would just be epic!  Anyway (back down to earth Jessica!) the competition is very tough as I’m up against some amazing Crafters but I can still live in Hope can’t I?!!  So….if you like reading my Blog and would love to #sendjessicatolondon please Vote for me here I would be so very grateful x

Sure while I am on the subject of Awards did you see I was also Longlisted in the V by Very Blog Awards in TWO Categories – What The…?!!!  When I started my Blog last November, one of the goals I wrote down in my Happiness Planner was to get this Irish Blog Award Badge on my website.  I work so hard and put a lot of time and effort into my Blog to ensure I have nice, consistent content and that the design is pretty yet accessible.  From the writing, editing to taking photographs and keeping the online shop updated, there is a whole lot of admin and hours of hard work involved in running a Blog!  I really do take pride in my work so I hope it shows through to you.   Being Longlisted in the Corporate Arts & Crafts and also the Corporate Lifestyle Categories makes it all completely worth it and I couldn’t be happier right now.

The next stage of the #vbyverybloggies17 is the Shortlist Round where a Panel of Judges made up by the General Public will critique those on the Longlist by scoring each Blog individually against a set of criteria.   Round Three will see the Shortlist being judged by Industry Experts where Successful Blogs from this Round will be made Finalists and get to attend the V by Very Awards in Dublin!

So it’s another tough competition but honest to God just having these two Badges on my Blog which I only set up less than 10 months ago has me beaming and if I somehow manage to get a night out or two out of all of this even better!

Eva aged 4 Months #wombfire

August saw our baby girl turn 4 and we celebrated with a Trolls Themed Birthday Party and BBQ at home with family and friends (and I’ll admit more wine than I could handle!!)  Eva is growing up way too fast and the saying is so true that the days are long but the years are short…  We have only 12 months left before Eva starts Big School so I need to remind myself to slow down a bit and really enjoy this Pre-School time with her before she fecks off to College and leaves me for good…

Thanks for stopping by x

Jessica
