Welcome to the first of my Friday Favourites blog posts, this week is all about my current favourite activities my kids and I like to go along to!
Eva (3) and Ben (2) go to Creche and Playschool three days a week which they love and I also like to take them somewhere fun on their days off too. They both love music and dancing so from a very early age I brought them to Jo Jingles classes in Midleton. Jo Jingles is a Music, Singing and Movement experience for babies and children aged from 3 months to 5 years. I found it so handy to be able to bring both my babies of different ages and abilities along to the one class. It is such a lovely class to introduce them to and I always got a great kick out of watching how excited they were! Plus it tires them out – so it’s a Win Win in my book!!
Jo Jingles are currently running a Black Friday Stock Sale this week where you can buy Jo Jingles Dolls, CDs and instruments all at reduced prices!
As Ben got a bit more active and was running around at 10 months old, I started to bring them both to play centres; Perks in Youghal, Jungle World in Midleton and Go Safari in Carrigtwohill. All three run fantastic deals especially midweek which is great for entertaining kids of that age before they go off and leave you for Big School!
We then discovered Gymboree Classes which run in various centres all over the Country. Gymboree is a Play & Music Class for babies and children from 6 months to 4 years and they offer a discount for Siblings! We have gone to Gymboree classes at Ballymaloe House – which has lovely gardens to explore afterwards and to classes at Go Safari in Carrigtwohill – which is great as the kids also get some playtime in the Play Centre included in the price. More recently we have gone to the classes at My Place Midleton – my two really do enjoy Gymboree Class and love all the singing and dancing as you can see below!!
Also running at My Place Midleton on Saturdays is The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy. Eva started the Autumn Term in September and loved it! Ballet Class starts at 10.30am – the same time as Gymboree Class. This was ideal for us as I could drop Eva into Ballet Class and bring Ben into Gymboree Class (unless he had fallen asleep in the car!!). There is a door in between both rooms so once Eva finished Ballet at 11.00am she then joined us for the last half hour of Gymboree – perfect!
Each girl gets an Invitation to bring along a friend to one class which is great to see if they will like it before booking and Angelina Ballerina herself pays a visit to the girls during one class in the term. Eva’s starstruck moment was photobombed by her brother above!!
At the final class Parents are invited in to see their little Ballerinas in action. I was mad to see if Eva could actually take direction as she never ever listens to me!! But she was amazing and the smallest in the class I never realised when dropping her in. She danced along with all the bigger girls and even did a little solo across the floor to beautiful music which was honestly one of the nicest things I have ever seen in my life! I was totes emosh and so proud she even looked Angelic! No photos or videos were allowed so I had to ask Eva to try and recreate her dance for Nana later that day…. but she stomped across the floor like she was wearing steel toe cap boots with her tongue hanging out.. hmmm at least I can replay the first magical moment over in my head!!
The Winter Term of Angelina Ballerina is starting on Saturday 26th November.
There is a fantastic Market in Midleton across the road by SuperValu that we browse around after class. It’s such a lovely start to a Saturday morning and ensures we get up, get dressed and get out of the house after a busy week of school runs!
These are just a few of the activities we currently enjoy and I hope this post might be useful to any new mothers out there looking for something to do with your little ones!
Thanks for stopping by
